About the Artist
Marilyn Cook lives in the Caribbean on the Island of St. Croix.
She collects items along the sea shores and from the water which she uses in her
designs. She has been designing jewelry for many years as she traveled the world
on her sailboat.
She has a studio located in Christiansted on New Street. Her one of a kind pieces
can be viewed at the Goldworker jewelry store on King Street. She is a certified
Instructor with PMC and Art Clay and has had special training in the new non
precious bronze and copper clays. Marilyn has had work published in jewelry and
guild magazines .
Her latest designs are of fine silver and 22k ,24K gold which uses PMC or Precious
Metal Clay. Metal clay is made of pure 999 fine silver with an organic binder and has
a clay like consistency until it is fired in a kiln or torch fired. When done each piece is
of pure silver. Because of its pre fired clay like consistency, fabulous forms and
shapes can be created. Molds can be made and carving can be done. Check out
the Art Clay Guild website,
and the PMC Guild Website to see samples of this exciting new medium!!
There is also new advances in base metal clays. There is a bronze clay,
copper clays, stainless steel clays, and steel clays!

I also teach intermediate students new techniques. Every class is a new experience in creation!
Each student learns to fabricate a pure silver piece from the beginning to the end. They also learn various
